Sources close to the Japanese Prime Minister say he plans to step down to deal with a health problem, according to public broadcaster NHK.

据日本NHK报道，消息人士称日本首相安倍晋三因健康问题将辞职。

Shinzo Abe is scheduled to hold a news conference later in the day to explain his decision.

安倍将于28日晚些时候召开新闻发布会，对这一决定进行解释。

Abe has visited a hospital twice over the past two weeks, fuelling speculation that his health has deteriorated.

The 65-year-old president of the Liberal Democratic Party made a series of hospital visits in August for what his aides called a "regular health checkup" and follow-ups after he was reported as having vomited blood at the prime minister's office in early July.

报道指出，安倍晋三在2006年至2007年首次担任首相期间，就曾因为一种名为溃疡性结肠炎的慢性疾病而突然辞职。

Abe is known to suffer from ulcerative colitis, a chronic condition that was partly responsible for forcing him out of office after just a year during his previous term as prime minister in 2007.

Abe made his most recent hospital visit on the same day he became Japan’s longest-serving leader, breaking the record for consecutive days in office set by his great uncle, Eisaku Sato, half a century ago.
